2. Save at least 3 months of living expenses
How much money does it cost for you to live every month? Save at least 3 months of living expenses and find ways to cut costs (i.e. cable bill)
3. Feel the frustration of just talking about starting your business.
Let your inaction up until this point around starting your business act as a source of frustration and motivation to finally make the decision to act.
4. Identify a few friends/family that will encourage and support you.
Identify at least 2 people in your network that will encourage and be there for you when you quit and start your business journey.
5. Chose a date to quit and write your letter of resignation.
Set a date to quit and write a letter of resignation Including your reason for leaving, your last date, and a thank you for the opportunity.
6. Source courage
Be courageous. Listen to music, pray, meditate, envision the future, recite mantras. Do whatever you have you to do to develop the guts to quit.
7. Quit your job
Take a deep breath & hand in your resignation. If it makes sense negotiate working a few months part-time so that you have some income.
8. Get a client or two or three before leaving your job
Develop some traction in your business by getting a client or 2 or 3 before your last day. It's best to have some income before leaving.
9. Celebrate your freedom
YOU did it. Go out, party, eat, drink, go on vacation, or do something else to celebrate your new freedom and get ready for the road ahead
10. Get to work
After the celebration of your freedom get right to work. Hustle, Hustle, Hustle is what's required if you want to be successful in business.
